Erich V. Rachwitz, DVM
Erich earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1996 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine (KSUCVM) in 2001. He was an associate veterinarian at a two-doctor practice for 2 years, followed by 2 more years at a five-doctor practice. From these experiences he developed a awareness of the disconnect between practice size and practice progressiveness. From that came his need to open Twin Creek Animal Hospital, P.C. in 2005, a practice that would stay small, but never lose a technological edge. His special interest is Dentistry and Oral Surgery. He continues to pursue advanced training in this field. He is currently in an Alternate Pathway Residency to become a board-certified veterinary dentist, serves the region between Lincoln and Des Moines in that respect. He is not a board-eligible dentist. His mentor is Dr. Barron Hall, DVM, FAVD, AVDC of Vienna, VA.
He loves to work, but when not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, and anything outdoors, especially in the mountains. He is a member of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association, the Nebraska Academy of Veterinary Medicine and the American Veterinary Dental Society. He donates to Fontenelle Nature Association, Ducks Unlimited, Bellevue Women’s Club, American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the Robert Wiggs Memorial Scholarship at Texas A&M, the Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry, and dozens of other charities, school PTA’s and churches. He does pro bono work for the Bellevue Police Department Canine Unit and Bellevue Fire Department arson detection dog, “Conan”.
